It happened at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16 in the 500 block of William Street, Bridgeport Police said.
When officers arrived, they found the victim, Ernesto Esquilin covered in blood at his residence.
Medics transported him to Bridgeport Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, police said.
A crime scene was located at Noble Avenue and Stillman Street and detectives are investigating.
